Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Sundaes

Who doesn’t like a good pineapple upside-down cake? How about an ice cream sundae, or even better, a sundae with cake in it? A pineapple upside-down cake is a pound cake that has some of my favorite fruits on it, pineapples and cherries, mixed with butter and sugar on top of the cake. The fun thing about this cake is that when it is done baking, it is turned over and served upside-down. Add some ice cream with the cake and you have yourself one delicious dessert to enjoy. Banana Split Bites

Who doesn’t like a good banana split? A classic banana split has three scoops of ice cream (one each of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry) served between a split banana. The ice cream is usually served with pineapple sauce, chocolate sauce, and strawberry sauce drizzled onto the ice cream, then crushed nuts (generally peanuts or walnuts), whipped cream, and topped with a maraschino cherry. It’s my birthday so cake I will eat! In honor of my own big day a cake-gadget had to be in order. Waffle Day

This past Sunday was International Waffle Day (March 25). A waffle is batter or cake cooked in a waffle iron that results in a distinctive grid pattern. There are several varieties including American, Belgium, Hong Kong, Pandan (Vietnam), and Scandinavian. It can be enjoyed anytime of the day, most commonly for breakfast and dessert.
