Volunteer with Bakes for Breast Cancer

You can make our bakes sales and sweet weeks a success! Year after year, our generous volunteers donate their time, energy, and passion to push our mission forward. From working behind the scenes at events to capturing photos of all the scrumptious desserts, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Why Volunteer?

When you donate your time to Bakes for Breast Cancer, your impact goes well beyond the last bite of a sweet treat. As a volunteer, you’re joining the fight against breast cancer.

The only way to prevent and cure breast cancer is to continue developing new treatments and therapies. Reducing breast cancer mortality rate is not enough — we must continue to fund research to find a cure. With every volunteer that helps us raise more money for breast cancer research, we get one step closer to achieving that goal.

Raise critical funds

No matter the role or project, your generosity helps raise money for the research that could change the face of breast cancer forever. Events, for example, play a huge role in our fundraising — and at least 50% of all proceeds are earmarked for breast cancer research grants.

Thanks to these funds, we can provide seed money for groundbreaking research like the tamoxifen studies. Today, partly as a result of those tamoxifen studies, almost two-thirds of women diagnosed with breast cancer this decade are predicted to survive their disease for 20 years or more.

As we move forward, we want to focus on our mission of providing grants to further research, prevention, and treatment by supporting breast cancer research and treatment institutes — and we’d love for you to join us.

Support research institutions like Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

“As Dana-Farber continues to expand its efforts in cancer research, funding remains a major challenge because of ongoing reductions in the NIH budget.  Without additional funding from organizations such as Bakes for Breast Cancer, we could lose the next generation of breast cancer researchers to other fields of study. ”

-Dr. Craig A. Bunnell, Chief Medical Officer, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
