Where has the football season gone? Tomorrow is the last game of the regular season for the New England Patriots against the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium. I would highly recommend you try making Chef Daniel Bruce’s New England Patriots Chili from his new cookbook Simply New England in time for the game!
I have made this several times already using both beef and chicken and it has quickly disappeared. The leftovers I craved were nowhere to be found! This is an incredible recipe unlike any chili recipe I have made in the past using ingredients that have never been in …
When a friend told me he was writing a cookbook with Chef Daniel Bruce I was excited. I did not know what to expect from this cookbook. My friend just told me that Chef Bruce has a very interesting story to share in addition to his wonderful recipes.
It is true and something that you would not expect to read from one of the country’s leading chefs! From his humble beginnings in New Hampshire, his travels, how he met his wife and ended up coming back to Boston are well worth the read! You can learn much more through the stories …
If you need something to bake that is quick and easy and a much requested recipe in my house try these cream cheese brownies! These brownies are good for a bake sale, good for the holidays, great to bring to someone’s house and basically good to make anytime you are in the mood to bake something!
Brownies are easy to make and adding a bit of cheese cake to the batter makes a good brownie a little better. I have been making this recipe for my daughter since she was little when I first got Rosie’s All Butter Fresh Cream Sugar-Packed …
ice balls from cookinglight.com
Spring has sprung and winter is hopefully in hibernation until next year. But the warmer weather means we’re all in need of a refreshing cool-down to beat the heat. Today’s gadget is perfect for summer, or early spring, gatherings. Everyone can appreciate an ice cold beverage while basking in the summer sun, so this gadget is a must-get.
Ice Balls, made by Prepara, are perfect when entertaining friends and family. Standard ice-cube trays are so 2011. The same-old square cubes are boring and out-dated. Prepara’s Ice Balls can spice up any beverage from your usual morning O.J. to …
After a long drive it was time for lunch or a light snack at least when we got to New York City! One of my favorite restaurants since my daughter was a little girl is Harry Cipriani. We would stay at the Sherry Netherland Hotel which became one of my favorite hotels and enjoy room service which came from Harry Cipriani and meals in their restaurant. I have great memories of the hotel and Harry Cipriani!
Harry Cipriani’s reminded me of Italy, The Italian Line ships I sailed on and where I tasted my first Bellini. This is the closest I …
I like to buy cookbooks. I still have a vast collection from my mother in addition to what I have acquired over the years. I had a huge Gourmet magazine collection until recently when I ran out of space and realized I could get many of the recipes from epicurious.com! Many times I wonder why buy cookbooks with so many wonderful recipes on line. Just by doing a simple Google search, I can get recipes galore! But there is still a good feeling about having a collection of wonderful cookbooks!
There are classic cookbooks that everyone should have and then there …
My daughter came down with cookbooks with recipes for me to try. Finally I tried one recipe from Gwyneth Paltrow -my father’s daughter cookbook. I love this cookbook and am going to get my own copy but more about that at another time!
I have smoked briskets outdoors for countless hours getting up at an unheard of hour to start the process. When I cook a turkey in my Showtime Rotisserie it does not take more than two to three hours before it is ready. I was intrigued about how a chicken would taste if I cooked it long and slow …
I got Joanne Chang’s cookbook Flour the first day it was available at the New England Book Fair in Newton. Although I have not had the time I wished to read the book and recipes page after page of tempting offerings, I decided the first thing I would make is chocolate pudding from scratch. I had only made chocolate pudding from a box and my favorite part was to add cream to the little left over in the pot and enjoy the chocolate pudding hot off the stove! I like my chocolate pudding warm to hot with cream on top …
