The Sweetest Event in the Cape and Islands for 8 Years and Counting

Bakes for Breast Cancer Cape & Islands is an annual culinary event that raises money for breast cancer research. This year’s event is August 1st - 7th, 2022. Love dessert? Want to support a worthy cause? Read on to learn how you can get involved.

I’m a chef or culinary artist

Calling all chefs, pastry chefs, and culinary artists! Looking for an easy way to give back while getting positive press for your food establishment? Cape & Islands Bakes for Breast Cancer would love to partner with you.

There are two ways you can participate in the week-long event:

    1. Offer a signature dessert and donate 100% of sales to Bakes for Breast Cancer.
    2. Donate 50% of sales from your dessert menu (and be listed as a Gold Level participant.)

The Cape & Islands have a 20% higher incident rate of breast cancer than the national average. You can help us lower that statistic one sweet at a time.

I’m a person who loves eating dessert

Calling everyone with a sweet tooth! If you love restaurant week, you’ll love Cape & Islands Bakes. Not only can you taste signature desserts from some of the best restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and ice cream shops in the state of Rhode Island, but your purchase also funds breast cancer research.

There are two ways you can participate in the week-long event:

  1. Visit any of the participating restaurants during the event week and buy a dessert.
  2. Shop online and have a dessert sent to your home. Delivery services like Grubhub, DoorDash, and Uber Eats may be another option.

For years, locals from Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard have raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer research participating in this sweet week. You can help us raise even more!

The Cape & Islands Bakes for Breast Cancer event funds researchers like Dr. Rachel Freedman

“It is hard to find the words for the ongoing appreciation I feel to have this support for the research we are doing for our oldest patients with breast cancer.  You are directly funding clinical trials dedicated to improve the care of older adults with breast cancer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
