Life works in interesting ways! You meet people when you least expect it even if you have yet to meet in person! This is the start of our story and how it came to be that we got involved with the Chile Olive Oil Dessert Bake-Off scheduled for October 9th, 2012 at 6 PM at the Armory in Somerville!
Our friendship started on Twitter! A friendship that might not have happened otherwise! 
Through a weekly #HGEATSCHAT tweet chat which takes place on Wednesday’s at noon, we met Chile Olive Oil. Somehow a direct message led to a phone conversation and emails which led us to an event the Chile EVOO Dessert Bake-off in Boston during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and benefiting Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc./ Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer!
Who turns down helping with an event that will benefit and promote the fundraising efforts of our organization which happens to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Who turns down the opportunity to work with a company whose product you happen to like? Not us! After all, who raises money for breast cancer one sweet at a time? We do so when the opportunity to be a part of a Chile Olive Oil Dessert Bake-Off crosses our path, it was meant for us to be a part of this event!
Have you tried olive oil from Chile? We suggest you try some! Chile has the perfect climate to grow pure olives. They have received numerous awards and recognition in international competitions for the quality of their extra virgin olive oil which comes in a mild and bold version for you to enjoy!
But first we suggest you reserve your tickets for the Chile EVOO Dessert Bake-Off in Boston/ Somerville on the evening of October 9th. Space is limited and there is no charge for admission. Join us and taste how desserts can be made with olive oil! There will be 3 judges judging the completion but you have a vote to cast as well!
You will be tempted by the desserts of Sofra Bakery and Café, Isabelle CurlyCakes, Treats on Washington, and Chef Jon Sargent! Who knows who else will be joining the event! Then after you enjoy the desserts you will help judge the best desserts in addition to the judges! It will be a fun evening which we hope you will share with us!
