Centennial Celebrations

2012 is definitely a special year for those that are celebrating centennials. Two of my favorite treats turned 100 this year: the Oreo cookie and Girl Scout Cookies! Meanwhile, both the Titantic and our beloved Fenway Park in Boston will also be celebrating their 100th anniversary this month. Today’s blog post will feature the food aspect, of course.

A visit to Little Cupcake Bakeshop!

How I wish my visit to the Little Cupcake Bakeshop in New York could have been longer!  This was the first place my sister took me to when I got to New York.  She was waiting with my dog Kudzu outside so I felt my visit inside the Little Cupcake Bakeshop had to be quick!
There was so much to take in!  This little bakeshop had so much to offer much more than just cupcakes! The cases and counter were filled with three layer cakes after three layer cake, pies, Bundt cakes, cheesecakes and the list goes on.  Everyone who worked …

 

Starbucks free DESSERT “POP UP”.

Much to my delight, today I was treated to what could only be called a free Starbucks DESSERT POP UP.
I arrived in time for the Red Velvet Cupcakes, the cake was rich and moist and the frosting reminiscent of Sprinkles Cupcakes sour cream frosting.  Next came samples of donuts, vanilla cupcakes and spice cake, followed by hand passed trays of blueberry cake and holiday cake.
Then to my surprise, delicious heart warming mocha’s and lattes followed.  Every dessert was fresh, moist and delicious and worth ordering again.
