Share a glass of wine with Stanley Tucci

After a hard day’s work, Stanley Tucci’s “Vine Talk,” on PBS was just what I needed. Lots of laughs, and casual, good times conversations. Each week a different celebrity panel and audience get to taste and judge each episode’s six featured wines. Can you imagine six glasses of wine lined up before you? If that isn’t enough to capture your attention, add to the menu appetizers, brought by a celebrity chef who has “paired” exact ingredients to go with the wines.
This show is a winner for me. On Episode 102, the featured wines of the week were New York’s Finger Lake District …

My Miami Adventure!

A beautiful wedding brought me to Miami, a wedding I could not miss!
I brought with me my computer; bought a Virgin Broadband to Go so I could continue working on Boston Bakes as if I was still in Boston. I worked every day I was there and took an hour or so to enjoy being outside by the pool just to get a little color.  I found myself alone at the pool because nobody who lived in the complex I was staying uses it.
I thank my wonderful volunteers for keeping up our Facebook and Twitter when I took my first …

Cupcake Camp

In a couple weeks, I will be attending Cupcake Camp Boston for the second time.
Which of the following best describes Cupcake Camp Boston?
A)   Cupcake-eating competition
B)   Cupcake bake-off
C)   Training to become a cupcake connoisseur and baker
D)   Ad-hoc gathering of people who share and eat cupcakes in an open environment
The correct answer is D.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved these frosted treats.  I have fond memories of these tasty, theme-decorated, and locally-baked cupcakes that my mother used to buy for me when I was a kid.  The best thing about these desserts is that you don’t need …

Roche Brothers & Sudbury Farms and the tale of the Chocolate Chip Cooke!

Imagine my surprise many years ago when out of the blue I get a call from Roche Brothers and Sudbury Farms saying they want to be involved with Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer!  I felt as if I had won the lottery!  All locations of both Sudbury Farms and Roche Brothers in Massachusetts would be involved and selling packages of their chocolate chip cookies with our logo on it!   I felt as if I had arrived!  What a major step for us!
I soon learned that the chocolate chip cookie that I had been feeding my daughter for so many years …

Spago Cheesecake! Easy to Make & A Great Cheesecake to Enjoy!

Although today it might be cold and cloudy with a little snow on the grass on this spring day, last weekend I took a break from all my work on Boston Bakes to do something I had not done in a while! Bake!  It felt good to bake something.  The house was filled with wonderful smells, the windows were open and it was a good day.
