Bakes for Breast Cancer Cape & Islands will take place from August 1st to 7th, when it’s the time to indulge yourself with some desserts to support breast cancer research. Have you had a chance to see where you can go on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket to enjoy desserts for a good cause yet? Look through the participating restaurants, bakeries, or even a fish market where various desserts are there for you to dine in, bring home, and share with friends and family.
Homemade cookies from Osterville Fish Market as well as Nantucket Bake Shop, pink velvet cakes from The Chocolate Rose in Mashpee, Rhubarb Yogurt Petit Gâteau at twenty-eight Atlantic, any dessert on the menu at Bleu, and more are available to satisfy your cravings for sweets. So visit the participating establishments and make your day by treating yourself to some yummy desserts. How can you say no to these delicious desserts for charity?
According to the breast cancer data from Massachusetts Cancer Registry, the rate of breast cancer is about 20% higher in Cape Cod than in the rest of the state. To benefit the breast cancer community as a whole, this year, B4BC fundraises to assist Dr. Rachel Freedman’s research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for breast cancer patients over 65, the overlooked and the least funded group.
We are more than grateful to our kind and generous participating establishments, which share the same values as B4BC, aiming to support breast cancer research. “A worthy cause, we’ve done it for the past few years. We appreciate all your efforts to raise money for this research,” said Sam Monroe from Osterville Fish Market, which has participated since 2020. Ashlee Benjamin from Pain D’Avignon Café Boulangerie said, “Ownership is always on board when I ask about this event. It’s a good cause for sure and of major cancer due too many women. We love to be part especially since it is for the Cape and Islands.”
Want to join us to make a difference in the breast cancer community? Don’t hesitate to treat yourself to some desserts while visiting these lovely bakeries, restaurants, and the fish market. Why not show off the delightful desserts with your friends and family through Instagram posts hashtagging #B4BC, spreading the generosity and kindness, and bringing them on board?
If sweets are not your thing or you can’t have them, you can still get involved by making a donation for breast cancer research. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
