In the past two weeks since we actively geared up for Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2011 which is scheduled for May 2-8th, we already have over 120 participants in over 50 communities across Massachusetts, The Cape and the Islands. Not bad for two weeks of hard work, but our goal is to pass the number of participants we had last year and we are not there yet!
We are sad when some of our participants close and can no longer participate because to me after working with them on Boston Bakes, everyone becomes a part of our family!
When some close new participants join us for the first time and sometimes a company will overtime add more of their restaurants to our list of participants. This gives us great joy! Of course it is still early in the process and we are trying to keep everyone updated on our website about our new additions, as well as on Facebook and Twitter!
So far, we have 20 new restaurants, bakeries, cafes and chocolate shops who are participating in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer for the first time!

We hope this is first year of many to come!
We love welcoming new participants but are ever so grateful for those restaurants, bakeries and cafes that are there for us each year! They are our backbone which gives us the base to grow from. More about our long time supporters in another blog!
