Finding New Foods

Devolving food sensitivities later on in life has forced me to change my diet completely. If you haven’t read my story about my food sensitivities (read my story here: https://goo.gl/bmvT2a), let me tell you a little bit about my situation. In 2016, I started having problems with foods and discovered that the problem is rapeseed/rapeseed oil, which is also known as canola oil, and rapeseed is also in soy lecithin, which is in most breads and chocolates. That’s when I had to switch to more natural, organic, and allergy-friendly foods.
Looking for new foods I can eat has been challenging and …

The Struggles of Eating at Restaurants With Food Sensitivities

Ever since I developed my food sensitivities (read my story here: https://goo.gl/bmvT2a) going to restaurants is something I’ve avoided doing due to the struggle of trying to find something I can eat. My sensitivities are not common and aren’t really allergies, so they are not listed under the 8 major allergies, which include food products restaurants try to avoid by having alternatives, such as a gluten-free meal. Since my problem is uncommon, there isn’t really alternatives I can eat.
With that being said, I don’t really like to go to restaurants and I try going as little as possible. I …

Homemade Eggless, Gluten-Free, Sugar Free, Vegan Oreos

Ever since I developed my food sensitivity to rapeseed, which is in canola oil and soy lecithin, Oreos, which have both canola oil and soy lecithin in them, has been one of the food items I can no longer eat. There are many different alternatives for Oreos such as Gluten-Free Oreos or Organic Oreos, but every alternative I have found still has soy lecithin in them, therefore, I still can’t eat them. I decided to look for a homemade version of Oreos that are still quite similar to Oreos, but slightly different in ingredients so I can enjoy them.

Trying Both Sides

Living with family members who suffer from lactose intolerance when I don’t have that problem has lead me to try both regular and Lactaid products. I can tell you that Lactaid products taste pretty much the same as products with lactose in them. If you are starting to develop a lactose intolerance or someone in your family is, I can tell you that it’s okay to make the switch. You and your whole family can switch to Lactaid products and still enjoy the foods you love.
I use Lactaid milk for pretty much everything now. I put it in Mac N …

My Story: Food Sensitivities

It was summer of 2016 when I started having problems eating the same foods I used to eat all the time. One night after eating dinner, I was lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, when a started to get intense stomach pains. It was my first time experiencing this and was quite painful that I started crying. Then I rushed to the bathroom and felt all better afterwards; no more pains. My first thought was that I had some weird illness that was affecting my insides. Later on, I realized that it was a food problem when a started …
