Food Television

This week, I’ve been staying at home everyday, sick with a cold. That meant no going out to eat, no baking, and lots of rest, hot tea, and chicken noodle soup. Since I was stuck at home and not at work, I was able to watch some of my favorite food TV shows that play during normal business hours. Here are my top 5 shows on The Food Network.

Of course, I must mention Sweet Genius since I am obsessed with desserts. In each episode, there are four American premier pastry chefs competing in three timed challenges for the grand prize of $10,000. …

Restaurant Review: Island Creek Oyster Bar

One of my favorite restaurants in Boston is Island Creek Oyster Bar in Kenmore Square. It is currently ranked #2 top restaurant on TripAdvisor. Being a seafood lover, I really appreciate the fresh and delicious seafood dishes served at ICOB. I also love the beach theme and sleek decor of the restaurant; the back wall is made entirely of oyster shells! Plus, the service is top-notch every time. Everyone should start the ICOB experience with raw oysters. The signature type is Island Creeks, which are known for their briny taste and sharp flavor. There’s usually a dozen variety of raw oysters …

Boston is catching up! A visit to the Rooftop of Legal Harborside!

For years watching Sex and the City on HBO, I would catch a glimpse of the “girls” on the roof top of a Manhattan building enjoying themselves with wonderful cocktails and great views. I did not know anywhere in Boston like it.  Well now I do!

The Seaport area of Boston is exploding with activity! Where are all these people coming from?  This area is busy and buzzing with people enjoying the harbor side and all the new bars and restaurants that have recently opened.  Many of the new restaurants as of now don’t take reservations and waits can be long …

It takes a lot of work to make Boston Bakes a reality!

Another week has gone by and now we have over 140 participating in this year’s Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer.   We would like to welcome Gennaro’s North 5 Square Ristorante in Boston to their first Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer.   It was a week of spending time seeing who is participating from last year.  We are happy to say 120 from Boston Bakes 2010 have already signed up for Boston Bakes 2011! We are not done and are working very hard to surpass what we did last year.   With time on our side, we can do it!
