Recently I had the fun of going to Sweet E’s Cupcakes in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. I do hope they will one day participate in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer but then again, I hope every restaurant, bakery and café in Massachusetts will participate in an event so close to my heart and so easy to do. But in the meantime let me tell you about how I fell in love with Sweet E’s!
I stumbled upon Sweet E’s and was so excited to walk up the stairs of their small Edgartown store. I follow Sweet E’s on twitter and have looked at their Facebook page and could not wait to try one of the cupcakes. The Edgartown town store was small and very simple. I don’t remember the cupcakes in the case I was watching a young woman icing some cupcakes and thinking how perfect they looked and saw only the cupcakes on the counter. I was offered a taste of the icing on my finger and of course accepted! The butter cream frosting was wonderful and I could have easily eaten a bowl of frosting. So I bought my vanilla cupcake and was on my way for I was saving it for later. The bag designed to hold the cupcake did not quite work out it was designed to, but I have to take some responsibility for it might not have been held properly to ensure its safety. It was a fantastic cupcake – rich, moist and so flavorful. The cupcake even looked like it has specs of vanilla bean throughout the cake and the frosting left me wanting more. Can’t wait to go back or better yet see if they ship their cupcakes!
So go and enjoy Sweet E’s, I sure did!
