Happy First Day of Summer! Earlier this month, I went to Provincetown (or P-town) for the first time to attend my dear friend’s bachelorette party.  P-town is a quaint beach town located at the extreme tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and is known for being a vacation destination for tourists.

lobster paniniIt’s always a good idea to order fresh seafood when you find yourself in the cape. While strolling down Commercial Street (a main street for shopping, artists, entertainment, and countless cute dogs) and figuring out where to grab lunch, a local suggested the Lobster Pot restaurant, featuring a waterfront view. Lobster Pot is what I would imagine to be lobster heaven with all types of various lobster dishes available on the menu. Familiar items include boiled lobster, lobster roll, lobster salad, lobster bisque, and lobster ravioli. There’s also lobster dishes that I rarely see in seafood restaurants, i.e. lobster scampi, lobster pot pie, roasted lobster, and stuffed lobster. Per the waitress’s recommendation, I ordered the delicious lobster salad panini, which was meaty with chunks of lobster knuckle. I subbed the mixed greens side with the house potato salad – this was a little too tangy/heavy on mustard taste for me. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch experience, especially with the beautiful ocean view.

I had one more meal in P-town before leaving and it was dinner at Bubala’s By the Bay, also on Commercial Street. The restaurant had an outdoor patio that was lively at night – the blazing fire torches as heat lamps added an exotic touch to the atmosphere. For food, I decided to order meat instead of seafood to change it up a bit: boneless short ribs braised in red wine sauce and served over garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. This entree was very delicious; the short ribs melted in my mouth and the flavor was a mix of savory and sweet. The portion was adequate for the price too. My friends and I would return to P-town again and probably at both of these restaurants.
