Boston comes alive the weekend prior to the start of the Boston Marathon! The energy of the city is felt everywhere. The long planning of the marathon is done. The runners have trained long and hard. They hope the weather will be perfect, not to hot and not to cold. They hope Heartbreak Hill won’t get the best of them and that they cross the finish line with everyone cheering them. Along the way on the sides of the road, many people will be waiting to cheer on the runners mile by mile. It is what we do each Patriot’s Day.
Running and organizing Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is like running our own marathon each and every year. We come alive the week of Mother’s Day each year! Our participants, over 300 in over 90 communities are getting ready; figuring out what dessert they are going to make for Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer, which dessert they will ship so you can shop and have desserts sent to you during the week of Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer.
Now you are checking our website often, looking at who is participating and seeing what desserts they will be offering, looking at the pictures on our slideshow. Soon you will be talking to your friends to see where you want to go during the week of Boston Bakes to help us raise money for the fight against breast cancer one dessert at a time. You will visit your favorite places and many will try new restaurants, ones that you have wanted to go to but have not quite made it to yet! You will shop and have desserts sent to you and as gifts to friends.
You don’t have to live in Massachusetts to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer and help us raise money for breast cancer research that will benefit everyone no matter where they live! For those who don’t live in Massachusetts, you can still shop and enjoy desserts to help us raise money for breast cancer. You don’t even have to leave your house to shop!
You can also always make a donation that is always appreciated and always welcomed! We want to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer in our lifetime. Funding research is one way we believe we can help with the hopes of finding a cure.
We hope you will join us in this journey and watch us cross the finish line with more money than we have raised before, helping us to create awareness with the hopes of finding a cure. But in the meantime, know that the research we have funded has helped greatly. Those with breast cancer have more options today than they did 40 years ago. Men and women are living long lives after fighting breast cancer. We want more, we want a cure!
Support us in our Marathon! It is together we can make a difference.
