The 12th annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer will run from Monday, May 2 through and including, Sunday, (Mother’s Day) May 8, 2011! This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Colleen O’Farrell, a good friend and colleague to the Fox 25 Morning News team.
We are so excited about the 12th Annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer! It is time to make it happen, turn it into a reality! Kick it off in grand style and let it fly! Time to see what restaurants, bakeries, cafes, ice cream and chocolate shops will participate for the first time and time to see who will want to participate again!
Can we surpass the success we had last year? Can we get more than the participants 220 we had last year? Can we raise more than the $70,000 we raised for breast cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2010?
Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer has raised and donated over $500,000 to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston one sweet at a time! What a wonderful milestone to have reached with the help of so many!
We are sad for the restaurants that have participated in last year’s event that have closed since the last Boston Bakes! They will be missed!
We have been working hard in the “off” season and hope to have many exciting news to share with you in the future!
Boston Bakes has been my passion and my life for so long and I have been lucky to have met and have the help of some wonderful, dedicated new friends who so believe in what we do and want to turn my dreams into reality. In time and with their help and the help of new volunteers there is so much more we can do and hope to do! It is a very exciting time for us!
