It is always time for Sangria!

By 2 Comments1 min read

The weather might have been unseasonably cool recently, but it is time to get ready for summer drinks. One of my favorite drinks to make for that unexpected guest is a pitcher of Sangria.

It is refreshing and always good on a summer’s afternoon or evening while you are sitting out on your deck.  I always try to keep the ingredients on hand. But in the rare case I don’t have the ingredients, a bottle of Sangria might be found hiding in the refrigerator. Of course as a back-up!

This is one of my favorite Sangria recipes. Try it for yourself and enjoy!

Sangria

1 bottle Spanish Garnache red wine

1 quart orange juice

½ cup sugar or adjust to taste

½ cup orange liqueur

½ cup Brandy

1 orange sliced

1 lemon sliced, optional

Splash of Spanish cava or other  sparkling wine or sparkling water

Mix wine, juice, sugar, and liquor in large jug, chill pour into wine glass over ice add fruit and splash of sparking wine just before serving.
