I am currently outside of the nation’s capital spending some time in the Maryland, Virginia, DC area. It is the first time I have not been in the Boston area for the Fourth of July and was not able to see the festivities on the Esplanade until 10 PM when CBS covered just one hour of the festivities that I have grown accustomed watching all evening on WBZ.

Living in Boston we have our traditions and July 4th and the Boston Pops go  hand in hand.  Being able to watch the Boston Pops for the whole evening is something I missed last night and I guess something I took for granted.   My tip for today is enjoy everyday and don’t take anything for granted!

At 9 PM, I watched the Macy’s Fourth of July celebrations in New York but it was not the same for me as watching the Pops!  If you asked me what made watching the Boston Pops special, It was seeing the excitement of the crowds, the military who serve our country and when the fireworks started, showing  the landmarks that make Boston special, Fenway Park and Quincy Market just to name a few!

Who knows where my adventures will take me to in DC.  If you have any suggestions, let me know.  Next Tuesday, I will be back with more favorites!  In the meantime, please share with me your favorite tools or must haves in your kitchen!
