Homemade fundraiser makes true ‘difference’

When she was 16 years old, Carol Brownman Sneider lost her mother to breast cancer in 1973.
Sneider thought “science would have all the answers” by the time she grew up, but that wasn’t the case.
Then, her daughter was born.
“I just wanted to see her grow up,” Sneider said yesterday. “She inspired me because I wanted to see her life.”

U.S. News & World Report‘s Best Hospitals guide has ranked Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center the top cancer center in New England and fifth overall in the country. The rankings are now available online at

Boston Bakes 2011 was dedicated to the memory of our friend Colleen O’Farrell who we saw each year when we would visit the Fox 25 studio in Dedham during the week of Boston Bakes.
