Last Friday, I visited the Big Apple for a day trip. The options for good eats in NYC are endless – so many, that it would probably take me years to blog about all the delicious restaurants, bakeries, food trucks that I’ve tried and would like to try. For today’s post, I’ll share with you some of my favorite dessert stops in the concrete jungle. No cronut visit, unfortunately.
My favorite place to get the best red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting is Two Little Red Hens bakery on the Upper East Side. Yes, I truly think their red velvet reigns supreme …
One of the best things about summer is the sheer amount of outdoor activities. And one of my favorite things to do is check out food festivals when I have a chance. Food festivals/events are a good way to sample different foods, whether they celebrate a specific culture, a charity, or are just a fun way to bring people together. As we start off the month of June, here are some food festivals happening in and around Boston (titles link to official/ticket sites):
SoWa Open Market: This isn’t strictly a food festival and has three different locations covering three blocks. The …
Boston is in the process of healing. It will take time. Strong and united Boston stands. Listening to Stephen Colbert talk about Boston and who we are, humorous but true! Hearing the national anthem being sung at the Bruin game last night shows our unity and spirit.
The victims and their families are always in our thoughts. It is still unimaginable but the strength of the community will unite everyone. We will be dealing with this for a long time to come. Next year, the Boston Marathon will be bigger and better than ever.
Fundraisers have begun to help and of …
Time flies! One day I think I have all the time in the world and the next minute Boston Bakes will start its 12th event in 11 days! We have over 270 participants in over 100 communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts! We have surpassed the number of participants and the number of communities we are in since Boston Bakes 2010! We are busy updating our photo gallery and finding out all the dessert details from our participants! The desserts we are seeing are outstanding!
A big welcome back to all those who have participated in the past and a welcome …
March is already here, the stores are starting to show patio furniture and bathing suits while the snow slowly disappears from my yard. This is the last month we will be able to take participants for Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2011!
So if you are a restaurant, bakery, café or chocolate shop in Massachusetts please sign up today or tomorrow! The more we have the more we will be able to raise for breast cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. It is a team effort that makes us a success each year and we would like more team members to …
What a week in Boston Bakes! Working on so many projects at once and can’t wait for them to all come together. But some must remain a secret in the meantime. Many wonderful people have been working to make this happen and when I can share it with you I will. It is so exciting to be working with many talented people who continue to offer so much of their time and expertise to make this possible for us. Once I am able to share it, I will introduce you to the people behind my secrets!
