Finding New Foods

Devolving food sensitivities later on in life has forced me to change my diet completely. If you haven’t read my story about my food sensitivities (read my story here: https://goo.gl/bmvT2a), let me tell you a little bit about my situation. That’s when I had to switch to more natural, organic, and allergy-friendly foods.
Looking for new foods I can eat has been challenging and …

Healthy Alternative: Applesauce

Have you ever tried using applesauce instead of butter or oil while baking? I have and the foods taste just as good for less the calories. Ever since I started baking, I have used applesauce in pretty much everything I’ve made. The cool thing about it is that no one has noticed the difference. The only difference I have noticed is that it tastes healthier, but still taste just as delicious.
Applesauce is a good source of fiber and contains small amounts of beneficial vitamins and minerals. A one cup serving of unsweetened applesauce provides 11 percent of the daily value …

B4BC Meets: A Home Baker

There is a look that anyone who has successfully prepared a dessert wears when presenting his or her creation. It’s the smile of a toddler coming over to show you a particularly intricate Play Doh monster and it radiates a unique pride. Baking is fun because you are given a strict set of chemical and physical rules to which you must adhere, but you are working to create a product that is unique, beautiful, and tastes good to the largest array of taste buds you can.
