Finding New Foods

Devolving food sensitivities later on in life has forced me to change my diet completely. If you haven’t read my story about my food sensitivities (read my story here: https://goo.gl/bmvT2a), let me tell you a little bit about my situation. In 2016, I started having problems with foods and discovered that the problem is rapeseed/rapeseed oil, which is also known as canola oil, and rapeseed is also in soy lecithin, which is in most breads and chocolates. That’s when I had to switch to more natural, organic, and allergy-friendly foods.
Looking for new foods I can eat has been challenging and …

Healthy Alternative: Applesauce

Have you ever tried using applesauce instead of butter or oil while baking? I have and the foods taste just as good for less the calories. Ever since I started baking, I have used applesauce in pretty much everything I’ve made. The cool thing about it is that no one has noticed the difference. The only difference I have noticed is that it tastes healthier, but still taste just as delicious.

Butterscotch Brownies

The alluring thing about brownies is their simplicity and decadence.  Classy enough for a dinner party and casual enough for a gift, brownies are one of the more versatile desserts.  While cookies come in different shapes and sizes, brownies can be spicy or bitter, pudgy or crispy, gooey or soft.  It’s all a matter of taste and opinion.  Brownies are so easy to make, that experimenting with the recipe should be encouraged in every cookbook and every box of mix.
