As the latest member of the Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer team I am excited to be assisting with one of Boston’s tastiest non-profits, one sweet at a time. In serving as Boston Bakes’ marketing coordinator intern I am eager to help raise money for breast cancer research and help the organization continue to grow.
Once I heard about the opportunity to work with Boston Bakes I could not say no. I hold the cause close to my heart seeing that my grandmother battled breast cancer at a late age. I always am looking for ways to support breast cancer research and acknowledge the fighters and survivors. With Boston Bakes, each year I seek out the South End Buttery’s Red Velvet Cupcakes knowing I am making a difference with this cause.
Originally from Ohio, I am currently pursing my master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at Emerson College, located in downtown Boston. Additionally I have been exposed to a variety of marketing landscapes, primarily in the non-profit and agency areas. Most recently with Pinkergreen, a very talented Boston-based branding and design firm. Through my experiences I have gained a strong understand of new business development, fundraising, event planning, managing advertising and promotional campaigns, as well as publishing social media content including; Twitter, Facebook, blog post and Linkdin.
I am truly excited to be part of such an important cause and helping raise awareness to the issues surrounding breast cancer. Who knew a tasty treat could make such a difference?
