If it is fall in New England, it is time for apple picking! If apple picking is not your thing, a visit to an orchard or farm stand will enable you to buy a wide variety of apples! You can’t forget to enjoy apple cider- hot or cold a wonderful fall treat as well.
But don’t forget to try the apple cider donuts! I mean try them at everyplace you find them since they are as different as every apple pie you have ever tasted!
One of the best apple cider donuts I had the pleasure of enjoying was at Russell Orchards Farm and Winery in Ipswich! After a walk on the beautiful Crane’s Beach, I stopped at Russell Orchards where my nose just led me straight to the line to wait for the fresh, hot apple cider donuts. I could not just buy one so I bought a dozen. When I got the white bag filled with my freshly made donuts I made sure to keep the bag open. These are the donuts I could have easily enjoyed all 12 by myself! I stopped at two! The donuts were fresh, hot and delicious! The donuts had the perfect balance of spice and apple taste. You could not get a fresher donuts! The donuts were as fresh on the second day as well! It was definitely worth a trip to Ipswich just to have their apple cider donuts! I will be going back soon for my apple cider donuts fix!
