I have not had time to do much cooking or baking these days. I miss not being able to cook and bake.  Housecleaning these days and getting laundry done is iffy at best. Food shopping, well I am ready to get food delivered because the cabinets are bare. Why?  I have been all consumed with Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer.  Working on Boston Bake for Breast Cancer for me is an addiction.

It starts with the hopes I can reach the number of participants, restaurants, bakeries, cafes & chocolate shops I had the year before.  When I reach that number from the previous year, I breathe a sigh of relief.  Even though I am afraid when I start Boston Bakes, I won’t be able to do as well as the year before, I get there.  When I get one over from the previous year, I feel great, but can I get 10 over last year’s numbers and then when I reach that another 10 participants.

So last year, I had 220 participate and with 2 weeks left to get more participants, I have over 260 signed up for Boston Bakes 2011, up over 40 and I feel great and grateful to those who continue to support us each year and to the new participants that sign up!

I get excited when we get into more communities.  I get excited knowing we have not one but two cupcake trucks which will be roaming the streets of the Boston area with cupcakes to benefit Boston Bakes.  I get excited knowing that if you can’t make it to one of our participants, you can shop and have desserts delivered to you.   You can find out all the specifics of who is participating, who ships their desserts and what their desserts are by visiting our website!

This is our way of making it easy for you to participate in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer and help us raise money one sweet at a time for breast cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.  If you can’t make it to us and want to help, you can always donate!

That is another week in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer.  Pictures and desserts are coming soon.  Let me tell you they look good enough to eat!
