I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Deveraux this past May when we did our annual visit to the clinics at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute kicking off Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2012.  Kelley Tuthill our friend from WCVB in Boston and Four Seasons Boston Executive Pastry Chef Tim Fonseca visit the clinic each May with chocolate chip cookies in hand to share with those family and patients there that day.  It was during our visit to the clinic that I met Peter.

Peter Deveraux was the first man I had met with breast cancer.  Since then I personally know of 2 other men with breast cancer.  Peter has agreed to write a blog for us which we will share with you once a month.  Look for the blog in the third week of every month!  We will share Peter’s story with you.  You will hear directly from him what it is like for a man to have breast cancer.  It is a story you will not want to miss.

Governor Deval Patrick has recently signed a bill designating the third week in October to be Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week.
