Happy Mother’s Day! Happy Rhode Island Bakes for Breast Cancer!

I hope today is a wonderful Mother’s Day for all celebrating or for those remembering the special women in our lives who we lost but remain in our hearts and thoughts.

I started my fundraising in memory of my mother who lost her battle against breast cancer at the age of 44 in 1973. She is always with me. My dessert-oriented events were created because of her and with her in mind! My love of baking and cooking is because of my mother.

It is ever so rewarding that we kick of the first annual Rhode Island Bakes for Breast Cancer on Mother’s Day! Rhode Island Bakes as we call it has over 25 restaurants, bakeries, online bakeries and supermarkets designating a dessert and donating a hundred percent of the sales from this one select dessert to benefit breast cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the nonprofit breast cancer organization Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc.

We call this raising money for breast cancer one sweet at a time where anyone can make a difference by simply buying a dessert.   Visit a participating location or shop on line and have desserts shipped to you! The desserts you can ship make great gifts for yourself or a special gift! There has never been an easier way to raise money for breast cancer, which touches so many women and men we know and love.
